From Kirkwall take the A964 signposted to Orphir. Take turn to Houton Ferry and carry straight on at next small junction past The Quoy of Houton sign sign.Continue on tarmac lane .You will see a cream farmhouse in front of you. House is clearly marked on the OS map.

From Kirkwall airport turn right and follow signs for Kirkwall. About 0.5 miles into Kirkwall turn left onto Clayloan (just after grass square on left). At bottom of hill turn left onto Junction Road, turn first right into Wellington Street (sign posted Orphir). Continue as above.
